Mulder FX Update II

NEWS Alert:

Dear clients,

We’re heading to our first negative performance month-on-month! And immediately to a big drop. May isn’t over yet and also the markets are extremely, extremely volatile but out of the woods, won’t happen.

Right now our performance dropped -26% and of course depends on when your startdate is, it could be higher.

I don’t expected that the U.S dollar rally against all other major currencies. Only with tight money management in the past we could hold this current positions. A further rally in the U.S dollar before a correction won’t help our performance. We need a revovery in EUR, GBP, AUD and some other currencies.

So clients are don’t take any open postions more, because the have a margin call of 3.5% or below. We don’t want to hit the margin call of 1%.

These volatile times gives also us a insight of what kind of movements FX could have.
Account Balance will change very rapidly, mostly down the last week but hopefully a recovery in the next weeks.

Update: Currency Fund Performance April 2.3%!!

April turned out to be one of the most difficult months until now to squeeze out a substantial profit, the fact that we are able to secure a 2.3% performance by the end of April makes us definitely a positive outperformer within the financial sector.

Given the fact that the global financial instability forced most of our competition to present red digits by the end of the month, we are modestly pleased that even though the circumstances have proven to be fairly difficult we are still able to present our clients a positive performance (2.3%).

Forex Competition Update!!

Long anticipated Forex Competiton Update!

We are now entering the final stages of our competition and although the best performers have definitely made their mark we are still witnessing some minor changes on the podium on weekly basis.

We are more than curious to find out who will come out on top!

Mulder FX Update!

Dear clients,

An update from the front of FX trading. This times are very volatile in FX markets. The performance changed and will be change very rapidly. Last week we get a hit in performance, main reason is development in EUR/USD. We could managed a little with some currency pairs like USD/CAD and AUD/USD. Only performance plummeted last week.

FX trading is high risk, because high leverage. So movements like last week are extremely rare but it could happen. I think everyone will agree that stories in EUR, CHF and GBP are spectacular.

Our prediction still stands, EUR will recover from here and we will move above 1.30-1.35 again. Patience is key in this and also money management. Most of the clients are around 10% margin call, so far away of the 1% and our own bottom of margin call of 3,5%.

We believe in our strategy because we had the same period last year. We were in short positions in EUR/USD at 1.45-1.51 and on November when EUR/USD reached 1.5175, we also dropped in performance. Everyone knows what happened in December till now.
On that moment everyone in the markets said 1.60 again and maybe new highs in EUR/USD. Right now everyone talks total different and someone believe a parity in EUR/USD.

We are open for all reactions and opinions. We monitor this every day but we hold on our proved strategy for the coming months.

Mulder FX Trade Tip: USD/CAD

Canadian Dollar rallied last year from 1.30 USD/CAD to 0.9950 today. Recovery in oil price, gold prices and other metal prices gives Canadian Economy a major boost. Canada benefited form the Winter Olympic as well.  The question is; is it only good news at the horizon and could the CAD rally even further against the other major currencies?

We believe the rally will hold for at least the coming weeks and CAD will weaken against the U.S. dollar over the next three months. Looking at a long term chart (last 5 years). The rally will be stop around 0.98 and our target within three months, will be 1.07 around mid July!

Reasons:
The correction on the stock markets will be beneficial for the U.S Dollar against the Canadian Dollar.
Correction in Oil prices and other Metal prices (maybe except Gold) during the Summer. We predict an oil prices at 70-75 USD for next upcoming months.
Predictions of rate hikes by the Bank of Canada are unseemly.

Right now we already have a small position and are waiting to increase it when the CAD will rally to 0.98.

FX Trade Idea: EUR/USD

Expect the unexpected. All eyes are on the Euro right now but the past tells us every time, currency pairs move in waves.

It isn’t that the dollar is strong but the euro is weaker than the dollar for the moment. To say it even better, it is the perception that the euro is weaker than the dollar.

The task for the leaders of the EU is to solve this issue and traders will look at the valuation of the euro. Behind the deficit crisis I still think Trichet will raise rates sooner than Bernanke will. Doubts and uncertainty is killing for a currency as can be seen in euro as well as in sterling. On the day Obama wins his health bill, U.S. deficit extended for the next 10 or more years, the EUR/USD dropped even further.

For short term when we break  EUR/USD 1.3850 we could move up and see 1.40 again within 3-6 months. Last  November everybody talked about seeing the EUR/USD at 1.51 might take us to new highs but everything changed very rapidly.

So back to common sense, like in the stock markets of March 2009. The world and many investors with them thought we where in a new Great Depression. Now stock markets are near the highest levels in one year,  investors start to get exited again and we know what can happen than.

See charts of 5 and 10 years, right now we are on a critical point. 1.30 is key level  to hold, otherwise we will break 10 year trendline. I believe the low will be around 1.32 but also I expect the unexpected.

We are already in position and will increase our position when the opportunity is there.

FX Trade Idea: GBP/USD

GBP/USD is lately one of the most volatile currency pair. The question is when we’ll break out of wide range of 1.48-1.5350. In graphic you see top at 1.6363 and 50% Fibonacci at 1.5574.

Our prediction for the next coming months is GBP/USD hold 1.48, so everything below 1.49 is a buy opportunity. Look at your own money management how many lot sizes you would buy.

Our target is 50% Fibonacci level at 1.5574 before this summer, so within 3 months.
